Bond, Pink Bond…

I have to say when I got this pair of Pink Bonds by Bluemint I was really impressed with the cut and the tailored fit. It is for sure their more refined and stylish short yet. The sophisticated look, the modern cut for those who don’t like the old classic elastic waistband and the price are the three things that stand out for me as swimwear collector. In short: They look great, the fit is flattering, not baggy or puffy, the finishing is impeccable, they’re short but not not crazy short, and the quality of their products is always the best, not only the fabric but the zippers and the lining. This are a must have. I’ve been following Bluemint for over a year now and I am very happy to see how they’re evolving, becoming a big name in the swimwear game. I could write about the specs of a swim trunk or instead, I could tell you how great they are in simple words.  First of all, they are a little shorter than the usual classic Moorea, it’s a modern twist that is on-trend right now and looks good and sexy and even thou The Master, that’s how these shorts are called, has been since 1996, these kind of short shorts have become more popular in the past 5 years.  Everyday, men are exploring new territories in fashion and these short shorts are the best example. Kiss me Once: Lip Print by Quid and Buck

So… browsing thru tumblr I stumbled upon this lip print speedo. It was to me the coolest print I’ve seen in a while. Luckily the picture had the name of the brand, it was Quid and Buck, I’ve never heard of them until that day. I looked for them on IG and found them and the rest is history… Now They’re in Aruba with me and I love them. So… Poche Plage is an italian brand that I recently found on instagram. I liked their models but couldn’t really tell much by the pictures, I have a pair now and all I can say is: WOW! Why WOW? They are flattering shorts that fit your body and look good in every possible way, specially in the back for me, they really have a great design, they are short and modern looking, colorful, with great patterns that are whimsical, masculine and attractive to the eye. The fabric is great, the long cord that ties the waist is really something that adds to the design making it more fun and playful. BLUEMINT X THE CARIBBEAN KING

This summer BLUEMINT and the Caribbean King are working on a fun collaboration by showcasing colorful swimwear, taking these vibrant colored shorts and placing them in the idilic setting like Aruba seemed like a natural progression. The colors compliment the beautiful beaches and vice versa. Let’s start off with the dandelion trunk… The color yellow of this trunk is as bright as the Caribbean sun which exudes a joyful way of life and stands out at the beach or pool. The pair that are featured today has been dubbed Dandelion by BLUEMINT. With such a fun name I figured that these need to be taken out for a wild escapade around the island. Jumping from piers, into rough waters and then for a much needed nap after “test driving” these trunks around Aruba. The Dandelion is well constructed inside out! Bather is a brand I discovered while browsing on Instagram, you all know how I love to do that. The shorts are made in Canada and that’s one of the things I like the most about them, it is the first thing I tell people when they ask where they are from. It’s an unexpected answer!    Like any great pair of trunks the drying process after a good swim is really quick, the fabric is 100% nylon and it has a shine to it and sort of a plastic feel in a good way. It is soft yet it keeps its shape at all times. No pockets on the sides, just one in the back… this is great and I will tell you why: I won’t drown my iPhone, like it has happened in the past.   This particular pair, the yellow floral, is bright and colorful, if you ask me it has a retro feel, like from the 70s yet it feels current.   So… The Lady Bugs trunks are certainly a very colorful and a playful piece of clothing… They jumped out at me the very first time I saw them online on the Love Brand Club instagram which needless to say it was love at first sight, I felt I needed a piece that was fun, easy and of course a conversation piece. So far the reactions have been positive, many from my instagram and as expected also at the beach, yes, people stop and stare at the trunks and smile. That’s one of the things I look for when I get a pair of trunks: that X factor, that special something to help you stand out and these have them in a fun, friendly, approachable and child like way if I do say so myself. The fabric is 100% synthetic which is great because they dry so fast and that’s always a great quality in swimwear.
