BEACH ESSENTIALS: WELCOME SUMMER 2015

Hello everyone! These are a few of my must have pieces this summer. Lets start with the shorts… or better yet, the towel… It’s Gray Malin’s first towel and like everything he does it’s just pure fun luxury and the price is not crazy. better hurry get yours since it’s almost sold out. I blogged about it a few days before but this piece is a MUST-HAVE, not only is big, and soft and absorbent BUT it photographs beautifully, and if you are a picture freak like me… YOU NEED IT! The shorts I got them last december, they’re Orlebar Brown’s signature Bulldog short in Collaboration with Gray Malin… yes, I love all things Gray Malin! It’s an US exclusive limited edition. What can I say about OB that I haven’t said before? They’re tailored, modern and fun. Now, the Marky Tortoise sunglasses are from Alfred Kerbs, it was a nice surprise… They’re completely different from what I use to wear. People’s reaction is always positive to the frame and I think personally that they’re a statement …

Bond, Pink Bond…

I have to say when I got this pair of Pink Bonds by Bluemint I was really impressed with the cut and the tailored fit. It is for sure their more refined and stylish short yet. The sophisticated look, the modern cut for those who don’t like the old classic elastic waistband and the price are the three things that stand out for me as swimwear collector. In short: They look great, the fit is flattering, not baggy or puffy, the finishing is impeccable, they’re short but not not crazy short, and the quality of their products is always the best, not only the fabric but the zippers and the lining. This are a must have. I’ve been following Bluemint for over a year now and I am very happy to see how they’re evolving, becoming a big name in the swimwear game. I could write about the specs of a swim trunk or instead, I could tell you how great they are in simple words.  First of all, they are a little shorter than the usual classic Moorea, it’s a modern twist that is on-trend right now and looks good and sexy and even thou The Master, that’s how these shorts are called, has been since 1996, these kind of short shorts have become more popular in the past 5 years.  Everyday, men are exploring new territories in fashion and these short shorts are the best example. Kiss me Once: Lip Print by Quid and Buck

So… browsing thru tumblr I stumbled upon this lip print speedo. It was to me the coolest print I’ve seen in a while. Luckily the picture had the name of the brand, it was Quid and Buck, I’ve never heard of them until that day. I looked for them on IG and found them and the rest is history… Now They’re in Aruba with me and I love them. So… Seagale came with these shorts, 2 in 1 they call it. Technical details can be found on their website but right now I will tell you why you need a pair of shorts. So… Poche Plage is an italian brand that I recently found on instagram. I liked their models but couldn’t really tell much by the pictures, I have a pair now and all I can say is: WOW! Why WOW? They are flattering shorts that fit your body and look good in every possible way, specially in the back for me, they really have a great design, they are short and modern looking, colorful, with great patterns that are whimsical, masculine and attractive to the eye. The fabric is great, the long cord that ties the waist is really something that adds to the design making it more fun and playful. So… I first was introduced to this brand while browsing online for new trunks last year, it was Xarifa’s first collection. This brand is based on Milan and advertised as a product 100% made in Italy so naturally I had really big expectations… and they were all met and surpassed.  The moment I received my first pair of Xarifa trunks, the Squame Sulphur Sky, I was pleasantly surprised by its packaging, it is the most exquisite packaging for a swim-short I have ever seen. It came in a white branded box big enough to fit the short, inside there was a bag made out of the same fabric and print as the shorts. The presentation is superb and that to me speaks highly of such a young brand. Once you take the shorts out of the bag you notice the classic cut, but once you put them on they look really fitted, I believe the key in the design is the cut around the leg area which is a lot more narrow than some other brands and that helps shape the swimwear to your …

Bather is a brand I discovered while browsing on Instagram, you all know how I love to do that. The shorts are made in Canada and that’s one of the things I like the most about them, it is the first thing I tell people when they ask where they are from. It’s an unexpected answer!    Like any great pair of trunks the drying process after a good swim is really quick, the fabric is 100% nylon and it has a shine to it and sort of a plastic feel in a good way. It is soft yet it keeps its shape at all times.   So… The Lady Bugs trunks are certainly a very colorful and a playful piece of clothing… They jumped out at me the very first time I saw them online on the Love Brand Club instagram which needless to say it was love at first sight, I felt I needed a piece that was fun, easy and of course a conversation piece. So far the reactions have been positive, many from my instagram and as expected also at the beach, yes, people stop and stare at the trunks and smile. I have these new pair of swim-trunks by the talented BurkmanBros, I was very curious because these are my first pair so I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say I am very pleased with them, not only the use of their exclusive fabric but also they are as bright and bold in color as you see online but it has an extra something, you can feel right away is a quality product. The fabric’s composition is 80% cotton and 20 % polyester.. Yes it takes a bit more to dry but the shorts keeps its shape all the time and that’s something I like a lot. Furthermore they always look good no matter how wet they are. You don’t have to worry much in regards to how the shorts looks after you get out of the water because they look perfect, so say goodbye to awkwardly pulliing and adusting it in public. They have 3 convenient pockets, a zip fly and to help them stay snug and fitted around the waiste they have a drawcord closure, which is very convenient since shorts can get a bit …

Finally the Black Wave by Onia is here… How can I describe these shorts? I could talk about the high quality of the fabric and the unique details that these swim-trunks have but that’s not what I like the most about the shorts, what I love about them is the feeling you get when you wear a statement piece, a show-stopper. You feel great in them, you look great in them, you stand apart from the crowed in them. They’re so visually attractive and interesting that you can’t take your eyes off them… and they photograph so well, they’re simply an amazing piece of swimwear. Love Brand & Co. is a luxury British beachwear and swimwear label that comes to the aid of elephant conservation… It just so happens that I was browsing my instagram for new trunks and these elephant lovers appear and also a ladybug model that i’m currently obsessing with… the print is fun, cute, perfect for a beach day with friends and family… I honestly think that these trunks are conversation starters. Love Brand & Co. have different prints and colors, the little detail at the end of the cords is just so fitting, they’re little elephant tusks, so nice… Another pair of shorts added to my wish list. Surprisingly the price range is very affordable and the silver lining is that they are promoting a good cause. As soon as i get my hands on the trunks I willl review them, I just want to give them a shout out. They deserve it. Check their website here!
