CARNAVAL READY

Carnaval is right around the corner and you can feel it in the air, that positive and fun energy which is pretty contagious. I always watched the parades on the sidelines, and each year I kept telling myself that the following year I am going to participate. So far, after 10 years, I only did a Fakkel, halfway.. Yeah… I know, shame on me, but what seems to be just a big party is actually a lot of work and preparation for people that love Carnaval and participate, those that are carrying this tradition that has years and years bringing joy and pride to the island of Aruba. I went to the Penha store located at Plaza Daniel Leo and sat down with one of their makeup artist, George Bislip, to discuss and play around with products from Urban Decay. We had an orange and yellow headpiece from a previous season to get inspired. The process took about an hour and, the outcome was well worth it. I wanted something festive and vivid yet masculine. When I …

PUNTA MITA | ST. REGIS PUNTA MITA

I had the opportunity to join the VII Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic last month through the St Regis Punta Mita, in the Pacific coast of Mexico. I have a soft spot for Mexico, specifically their cuisine, which is possibly my favorite. So when I received the invitation to this event I wanted to cry of happiness. This year I have been channeling my inner Arnold Palmer, by golfing not once, not twice, but three times this year. Also in attendance Lorena Ochoa, a top-ranked female golfer in the world, who I had the privilege to meet during my trip! Punta Mita is an ultra-luxurious resort and residential area located on a private peninsula 45 min far from Puerto Vallarta, surrounded by white sand beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Punta Mita is a golfer’s paradise, you can enjoy of two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses and several beach clubs and the gorgeous St. Regis Resort Punta Mita. This place has become Mexico’s most coveted hideaway. I was treated regally since day one with the best food from chefs around …

This fragrance is an instant energy shot, woody, sweet like honey, magnetic and definitely an elegant scent.   L’Envol, Eau Du Toilet is available at Penha. Visit them to try it and shop it.

MY SECRET TO STAY YOUNG

My age became sort of a sensitive topic for me once I had a conversation with my friend Gray over a few drinks by the Renaissance pool in Aruba back in 2013. I remember we were discussing my last birthday picture, which I was holding two balloons shaped in the digits of my then current age. He advised that if  I wanted to work in show business or in any related fields, like blogging and modeling, I should always keep my age sort of a mystery. That’s when I started to worry about aging and trying to think of ways and routines I can do that will keep myself looking young. I’ve always been a beach bum and while doing just that I never applied facial creams, sunscreen or anything of that nature. I always said that my skin was already cured after many years under the Caribbean sun. However, after having that conversation with Gray things changed, and fast. I started taking care of my skin, applying more sunscreen and finally used my first facial moisturizer. I starting …

PAUL HEWITT AND I

New York, Puerto Rico, Cancun, Aruba, Bermuda… These are just a few of my favorite places I visited this summer. For my season’s adventure, I brought a few of my favorite Paul Hewitt Accessories, like Black sea watch from the Grand Atlantic line, and the Ancuff bracelet. Paul Hewitt timepieces are classic and minimal, and can go with pretty much any outfit. I was introduced to the brand a couple of years ago and became a fan instantly. My first piece from Paul Hewitt was the anchor bracelet, and I still wear it till today (and the compliments keep on coming too). Here is a recap of my favorite images ft. the Paul Hewitt accessories. To shop these accessories, click on the image and you will be redirected to learn more and shop! GET ANCHORED!

September’s Scents

This month’s selection of fragrances are special to me since I used them during a special time for me, my birthday month. I am bringing you two options: a new discovery and an updated version of a classic I’ve been using for a while. The Dunhill Icon Absolute is first—which is an absolute, pun-intended, favorite the second I smelled it. The scent is woody and super masculine, which is exactly how I like all of my perfumes. Also, the fact that Dunhill is not that well-known among the youngsters so it does have this very cool and exclusive vibe to it— which is another reason why I really like it. It can be difficult to describe a perfume or a specific scent, but the Icon is pretty easy to nail down. It has notes of leather and tobacco, jasmine and rose and smells like heaven. It mixes well with your own natural scent too. I definitely encourage you to try it the next time you visit the Penha store.   Second scent, the Mercedes Benz Man, which …

The Ritz-Carlton Cancun

Cancun is definitely a place to love. I recently got back from a four-day escapade with The Ritz-Carlton Cancun. The city is way bigger than I imagined and has a whole lot to offer besides from the beautiful turquoise waters and the friendly and polite people of the city. This isn’t my first time to Mexico, however, it is my first time visiting la Riviera Maya, and it was the perfect way to top off the summer season. Every experience that The Ritz-Carlton offers is always the best of the best: From the food and location to the staff and entertainment. On my first night at the hotel, I had the chance to experience the Chef’s Table with Chef Mara Barba, which I highly recommend if you want an intimate dining experience. The menu for the night was Mexican cuisine with a local twist. We were treated to a 6-course meal, which was prepared inches away from us, and in between bites we sipped on local Mexican wines. As she cooks she explains the story …
